Raining Monday

> June 3rd, 2008 ---

I’ve found that the past three Mondays were all raining days. During PE class, we always went to the auditorium to watch movies. It was quite boring to me. I really want to play and exercise. However, we still play table tennis for a while. I still like basketball more.

I hope next Monday is a sunny day!

Sleep Lately

> May 13th, 2008 ---

For the past days, I slept very late because there were too much homework. Many of my classmates also slept very late. Teachers have been assigning us way too much homework. Everyday, there is English homework to do, all those take-home quizzes, handbook, holt reader and text book. O! and the book report. That is my nightmare! Every week, there’s a big test, English grammar test, history test and Bio test. History test is the hardest. I always need to memorize a lot of key terms, names and dates. The day before yesterday, which was Monday, we got a two big tests in a day! First, we got history then biology. Since I stayed up late, I felt like my brain wasn’t working well. I left off a few questions. After the history test, my mind was tired, but I couldn’t take a rest! I didn’t prepare for the biology test, however, it wasn’t that hard. After I finished the test, I got a nice sleep! Hoo~ wat a tiring day! I really, really hope that we can have less homework and tests. Please!

The Coat of Arms of Castilla-la Mancha

> April 22nd, 2008 ---

This is coat of armies is created by me. I choose to put  a castle, shield and swords because many castles were built on that land during the Middle Ages. Many Christian crusaders and Muslims have battles on the land. The cross represents the Christian Crusaders. The spiky triangles on the top show the glory of the region.

Third Quarter Summary

> April 15th, 2008 ---

For the past three quarters, I have been working very hard on my blog. I wrote many posts to share with the class. Most of my posts were about the things I’ve done in the past week. I chose important or interesting events to write about. In addition, for a while, my posts were about what I learned. I learned to write a lot and got better at typing. Even though I was forced to write posts, I still enjoyed it only a little little bit.

Clubmed Phuket

> April 8th, 2008 ---

Last week, most of the eighth graders, two ninth graders and two sixth graders had a exciting trip to the Clubmed in Phuket. We really had a great time there. Swimming in ocean and pool, shooting arrows, basketball and riding elephants were all so much fun! I especially like the food even thought it is a little spicy. The first day, I accidentally ate a piece of chili. It was so horrible. I felt like there is fire coming out from my nostrils, ears and mouth. I drank like a litter of water, but it didn’t help much. The whole dinner was ruined by that piece of chili.

The third day, most of us went to ride elephants. The elephants weren’t as large as what I expected to be. However, they were quite obedient and they followed every orders from its owner. In addition, a elephant’s poo is so big. It is the largest poo I’ve ever seen before. Anyway, I liked elephant riding =).

The trip was a good time for all of us. I hope we could have a trip again!

Typhoon V.S. NEHS

> March 25th, 2008 ---

Yesterday, our school has a basketball contest with NEHS. We have waited this contest for a long time. It was the time to show how our team improved. With the basketball jerseys on, they headed to NEHS. The teams were met in the gym. I went there with Jonathan and Charles. At the time when I got there, the contest almost started. The teams were still practicing. I heard that some people said that NEHS was not strong. However, that was not what I saw. Their passings and dribbling are good. Their lay-ups are also very nice. Before long, the contest started. At first, our team was tried hard to defend them. Our defense weakened as they scored more and more. We didn’t give up that we tried hard to score, but it was hard.  The final score is 11 to 53. It was not what is expected to happen. I think they played very “dirty”. The judge is also not indifferent. He is on the side of NEHS. The judges kept calling our fouls. Overall, we didn’t improve a lot. I hope next time we can do better.

Green World Field Trip

> March 18th, 2008 ---

All the eighth graders had a trip to the Green World with delight and ease yesterday. We missed history class because Mr. Vassilakis was still in New York. Exactly at eight o’clock, we went down to KFHS’s field and got in the bus. On the way, we had some snacks while chatting. In addition, I felt terrible that time that I kept coughing. I got that cold last Thursday, and I still felt ill now. After 30 min of drive, we arrived at Green World. It was high in the mountains. I found surprised that we were the only visitors. In order to get our assignment done quickly, we walked fast and took notes of the organisms. The park was really exquisite. It was designed well and we didn’t need to use up our energy by walking a lot. We could call a car to take us to the destination. Each areas have its own feature. I saw many exotic animals, such as kangaroos, iguanas and many other types of fish and birds. They were awesome! The environment for the animals is a mimic of the real environment which means the environment is made artificially. This trip is wonderful. I learn how the animals adapt to their environment and their adaptations. However, we were assigned homework to do and it is due on this Thursday. No!

Feudal Society

> March 11th, 2008 ---

The lord owns the castle and the neighboring land. He hires knights to protect the lands and the castle. In return, the knights will gain some parts of the land. The lord also hires peasants to farm crops, and they will receive some of the harvest. The knights pay  peasants some crops to farm on the lands. This relationship is called feudalism. Sports Day

> March 4th, 2008 ---

I have been running in the playground of NEHS recently with J-Dog and Charles. We first jogged to warm up and then do some dashes. It was quite tiring! Our legs were sore on the next day, but we couldn’t just stop running. If we discontinued to run, then the sore wouldn’t fade away. Instead, we needed to continue running and soon we would get used to it. I hope all of us will win our won events, but of course the red team will win after all.
